This vibrant Manjushri is infused with his energy of truth and discrimination, with a flaming sword to cut through ignorance. The design for this painting was taken from a traditional Tibetan thangka in my teacher's home. It has a special energy that I have always been drawn to.

He holds a lotus flower inside of which is a traditional book that represents widsom. Like Green Tara, Manjushri is stepping out of his lotus seat to help us. His vehicle is a fierce snow lion representing the homeland of Tibet. Meditating on Manjushri invokes these qualities in oneself. While painting Manjushri, I have wished for protection, wisdom, and discrimination for my homeland and myself.

This is the second version of Manjushri I have painted and includes an expanded background with lake inspired by recent waterscape paintings.
