Ganesh Writing Mahabharata Painting
Ganesh Writing Mahabharata Painting
Ganesh, one of the most beloved Hindu deities, is the Lord of Obstacles. He is pictured here writing the Mahabharata, an Indian epic, attended by his mouse Mushika. In this story, he kept a commitment to finish this writing project by breaking off his own tusk when his pen broke. He is a shining emblem of moving through obstacles and is honored by many writers to move through writer's block!
Ganesh holds a lotus reminding us that spiritual growth at the center of life. He also holds a rope or noose. In the background is a lush mountain landscape where water meanders through falls and lakes, like the creative process. I particularly love his foot!
